The SACC-USA Trainee Program and J-1 Visa service can be used for everything from a summer internship for a student from Sweden to a longer training program for someone who has just graduated or a 18-month Visa for a Swedish employee in a rotation program.
As a member of SACC Chicago, your company has the opportunity to host a well-educated Swedish trainee on a J-1 Visa. SACC Chicago can help you post your training position in Sweden, review applications, and put together a list of suitable candidates for your evaluation and final selection. Once the perfect match has been made SACC will guide you and your trainee candidate through the Visa application and issue the necessary documents.
Let SACC Chicago help you host a trainee!

Most positions in the SACC Trainee Program pay a stipend to cover living expenses. Some pay more. Others such as summer internships may be unpaid. Positions with SACC Regional Chambers are usually unpaid. Unpaid positions may be best suitable for students who are required to do an international internship as part of their course work and thus can get a student loan.
Interns/trainees pay federal, state and local tax on the stipend. There is no Social Security or Medicare tax (unless the trainee has lived in the U.S. previously, see the Tax Manual for details).
The trainee candidate is required to have health and accident insurance that meets the following minimum requirements:
