Our Role and Mission
The Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in Chicago (SACC Chicago) is an independent, non-profit, membership driven Swedish and American business collaborative that creates opportunities for members to promote their products and services, network through business and social events, and strengthen their corporate and professional skills through the sharing of expertise, education, and training.
Our Network and Members
SACC Chicago is one of the 19 chambers across the United States that collaborate under the umbrella of SACC USA, headquartered in Washington DC, and its partners, the Swedish Embassy to the United States, the Embassy of the United States, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Sweden.
Our extended partner network also comprises local organizations such as the Honorary Consulate of Sweden, the Swedish American Museum (SAM), the Swedish Women’s Educational Association (SWEA), North Park University, Business Sweden, and other Nordic and European Chambers of Commerce.
Our Members represent a range of professional expertise, from manufacturing to financial services, pharmaceuticals to IT/Telecom. This variety is an excellent resource for connecting with potential partners, clients, and professional services. Their companies are typically Swedish subsidiaries in the U.S. or American service providers.
Our History and Reach
SACC Chicago was founded in the early 70’s. We represent members in Chicago and Illinois as well as in Indiana, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin, from a geographical area of nearly 43 million inhabitants.
For Networking, Membership, Mentorship and Job Matching Services, please refer to respective page on this website. We offer our member companies access to Swedish interns through the J-1 Visa program administered through SACC-USA. SACC Chicago also provides limited general services to the public such as access to events, information about doing business in the Midwest/US and Sweden, and referrals of certain business requests among the membership.
